Sonoma County, California (Petaluma, CA) – On Thursday, June 27, 2024, a driver died in a two-vehicle accident in the area of Old Adobe at Casa Grande roads near Petaluma, CA.
At around 12:40 a.m. CHP Santa Rosa officers were alerted to a traffic accident. They discovered that the collision included a BMW 328i and a Cadillac CTS.
The BMW attempted to overtake the Cadillac over the double yellow lines that separate the northbound and southbound lanes of the road. When the BMW re-entered the southbound lane, the Cadillac’s left front hit its right rear. The BMW driver then lost control of the vehicle, leading it to leave the road and crash into a eucalyptus tree.
The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead on the scene, while a passenger in the same vehicle had serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
