Marin County, California (Sisters, CA) – On June 26, 2024, two 14-year-olds were killed when their dirt bike crashed on U.S. Forest Service Road, 1028, south of Skylight Cave in Sisters, CA.
According to authorities, at around 7:00 p.m., four teenagers between the ages of 14 and 15 were riding two gas-powered dirt bikes in pairs. The 15-year-olds continued their search and discovered the other two, who had crashed their bikes and were critically hurt.
The 15-year-olds started lifesaving efforts and dialed 911. A bystander also assisted until deputies and paramedics arrived. 14-year-olds were declared deceased at the scene.
Both teenagers were wearing helmets. It appears that speed and changing topography played a factor in the crash.
