San Diego County, California (Oceanside, CA) – On June 27, 2024, two out of three motorcyclists were killed in a pileup crash near the Las Pulgas Road onramp, about 10 miles north of Oceanside, CA.
According to US Navy spokesperson Brian O’Rourke, two of the three individuals killed were sailors stationed in the San Diego region, but their identities have not been revealed. Five other people were injured in the collision.
The crash involved four bikes and two cars. It began when a Jeep going southbound went off the roadway, collided with a guardrail, and became immobilized.
A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van collided with the Jeep and became disabled. The Highway Patrol said that four motorcyclists going in tandem collided with the Jeep and van, causing the motorcycles to catch fire.
