Polk County, Oregon (OR) – On Monday, October 27, 2024, Oregon State Police responded to a car collision on HWY 22 at the intersection with Perrydale Road in Polk County, OR.
An investigation revealed that a Ford Taurus, driven by 74-year-old Gay E. Hall Pentecost from Sheridan, was stopped on Perrydale Road. The Ford entered the roadway and collided with a westbound GMC Sierra 3500, driven by 69-year-old David Carl Stauber from Keizer, hitting the rear driver-side bumper. The impact caused the GMC to skid, where it was struck on the passenger side by an International commercial motor vehicle and trailer driven by 60-year-old Robert Farley Snyder from Independence.
The driver of the GMC, David Carl Stauber, and his passenger, 63-year-old Alejandro Zukowski from Salem, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The HWY was affected for about 4.5 hours during the on-scene investigation.
