Los Angeles County, California (Cerritos, CA) – On December 5, 2022, a tragic multi-car collision caused the death of an individual while injuring two others at an intersection in Cerritos.
Six vehicles were included in the collision, which also included a FedEx delivery truck. The incident happened a moment before 9 a.m. at the intersection of South Street and Bloomfield Avenue. Several passengers and drivers were stuck in their cars following the incident, which resulted in huge help from firefighter-paramedics and LASD. One of the injured victims was taken to a hospital in unclear condition.
A dark-colored vehicle was damaged nearly beyond recognition in a video from AIR7 HD after it reportedly T-boned the right side of the FedEx vehicle. Several parcels and garbage were strewn over the area. According to sheriff’s inspectors, the incident happened when one of the cars failed to stop at the junction, and no skid tracks were detected on the asphalt. There were no citations or arrests issued Wednesday morning.
According to a LASD official, the incident was captured on the dashboard camera of a car that was not involved. The video was not immediately made public. As the investigation at the scene proceeded, the junction remained blocked.
