One person is dead and two sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near milepost 342 on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at approximately 6:50 A.M.
Michael Maddox (55) of Weiser, Idaho, was parked on the eastbound shoulder of I-84 in his Pontiac Grand Am when an eastbound Ford Explorer, operated by Debra Archer (37) of Kelso, Washington, ran into the read of Maddox’s Pontiac.
Maddox was seated in the driver’s seat, he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Archer was transported by ground ambulance to the hospital for injuries.
The passenger in the Ford Explorer, Jimmy Padilla (48) of Las Cruces, NM, was transported by air ambulance with serious injuries.
Commentary
Surprisingly many fatal accidents occur when one of the vehicles is parked on the side of the road. It is important to remember if you need to pull to the side of the interstate/road pull to the side as far as possible. If you are a driver remember to slow down or move over when a vehicle is pulled to the side.
