Lincoln County, Oregon (OR) – On April 17, 2025, Oregon State Police responded to a collision involving three vehicles on HWY 20, near milepost 4, in Lincoln County, OR.
Preliminary investigation revealed that an eastbound GMC driven by Heather Maria Paz Hosey, a 42-year-ol from Newport, crossed the center line and hit a westbound Dodge Journey, driven by Ruston Lee Thommen, a 46-year-old from Halsey, head-on. The GMC then spun and was struck by a trailing Dodge Dakota driven by Christian Layfield Sagrero, a 19-year-old from Newport. The Dodge Journey caught fire due to the collision.
Hosey, the driver of the GMC, was pronounced dead at the scene. Thommen, the driver of the Dodge Journey, escaped the vehicle with unknown injuries and was taken to a hospital. Layfield Sagrero, who drove the Dodge Dakota, sustained minor injuries and was also transported for evaluation.
The highway was closed during the on-scene investigation.
