Josephine County, Oregon (OR) – On Friday, December 16, 2022, OSP assisted in an incident between a car and a pedestrian on HWY 99, close to 1900 block post 1.75 in Josephine County, OR.
The incident occurred at around 6:33 PM, based on the initial investigation, pedestrians were identified as Deverne Jacobsen, 91-year-old, and Gwen Jacobsen, 85-year-old of Grants Pass.
The victims were crossing HWY 99 to attend a Christmas Party when they were hit by a truck heading north on HWY 99. Both victims died due to their injuries from the incident. The operator of the vehicle escaped from the incident. The driver was identified as Skyla Fucci, a 24-year-old of Grants Pass, he received a call at around 9:15 PM, and cooperated with the authorities. He was detained at Josephine County Jail for two counts of Felony Hit and Run.
The incident is still under investigation and Fucci may face other charges.
