Bakersfield, CA – A single vehicle rollover in the southbound bound lanes of I-5 West of Bakersfield California left two children dead and three other people injured.
Officials have reported than an SUV was driving south when the driver veered into the center divider for an unknown reason. This caused the driver to then over correct flipping the car multiple times. During the rollover two children were eject from the car.
Both of the ejected children died, and three other people were injured. The children were not wearing their seat belt. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive. The other passengers status is not currently available.
It is always sad when a life is lost especially when children are involved. While the cause of the car crash is not fully known at this time, a seatbelt will often save a life in the case of a rollover accident.
